The problem

A study hall sells time at a desk. It also sells drinks from the kitchen and access to the WiFi, and different staff on the same shift have to count and charge for each of them.

What I built

I built it as one system with a screen for each job. The cashier opens sessions and takes orders while the kitchen sees what to make. Admins look after prices and staff, and they read the reports. Students get a portal of their own, and each student's WiFi access goes through a MikroTik bridge.

How it works

  1. I got the WiFi control working first, in an earlier version called Co-working-space. The current system was rebuilt around it and runs in Arabic and English.
  2. Reports read from the same database the cashier writes to, so the totals match what was sold.
  3. An audit script checks the schema and the right-to-left layout. It also catches any interface text that hasn't been translated.
  4. Right now I'm working on automatic course activation. Students pay with InstaPay or Vodafone Cash and send me a screenshot on WhatsApp. The system will read the screenshot, run a fraud check and see whether that payment reference has been used before.
